The Singing Cyclist arrives in "Cairns"
Michael Braund, a member of The Llewellyn Choir, raised a considerable amount of money for our performance of Verdi’s Requiem through a sponsored bike ride which has taken him close to 2500 km. This corresponded to a journey from Canberra to Cairns. Many of our members and friends joined him for his last leg and welcomed him to "Cairns" on Thursday 11 May.

Trips & Exchanges
Nouméa 2009
In July 2009 The Llewellyn Choir travelled to Nouméa for a joint performance with Les Alizés of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem. This 'French connection' came about when a member of The Llewellyn Choir sang with Les Alizés during the course of a posting to Noumea with an Australian Government department. Les Alizés' conductor, Sarah Briggs, is originally from Canberra.
The choirs performed in the Nouméa Cathedral and attracted a full house each night . Members of both choirs had a wonderful week of musical collaboration and social enjoyment in a beautiful environment.
Les Alizés come to Canberra 2011
In March 2011 it was The Llewellyn Choir's turn to repay the outstanding hospitality and musical experience provided to us by Les Alizés in Noumea. Together we performed Berlioz' 7 part masterpiece Te Deum in The Great Hall at University House.
Nouméa 2013
In 2013 the The Llewellyn Choir made its second visit to Nouméa for another joint performance with Les Alizés of Cherubini's Requiem in C minor. Now that the tradition has been established we hope for many more fruitful exchanges with Les Alizés in the years to come.
